LIVING CONDITIONS IN UKRAINE
CURRENCY
The official currency is the Hryvnia (UAH) which is divided into 100 kopecks. Banks work usually open Monday to Friday until 6pm, and readily exchange Hryvnia for hard currency (banknotes only). US dollars and Euros are exchanged easily at banks and currency offices, and while other currencies can also be exchanged, they are not as widely accepted. ATM machines are widely available in all cities. Traveler cheque are not widely accepted and attract high commission rates and lengthy paperwork. Major restaurants, shops and hotels accept Visa, MasterCard and Euro Card; however credit cards are not widely accepted, particularly in remote areas and smaller establishments. Outside the main cities it is advisable to carry a supply of local currency.
1$US = 27.00 Hryvnia (2022 rate exchange) and a bit fluctuate sometimes.
TRANSPORTATION
Public transports are electric buses,trams,vans and subways with affordable fares.
International students travel on student card fare which is much economical within city and also within Ukraine.
A huge railway network is working in Ukraine within cities and even to other European countries.
In almost all major cities airports are also available for air travel from where domestic and international flights arrive and depart.
A very modern underground metro network is also available to travel within city in Kyiv and Kharkiv city.
FOOD
Food items can be bought anywhere in the city like on shops,supermarkets,common markets and there are networks of bead shops everywhere in the city which work all the night even.A lot of foreigners has opened their own country food shops and cafes as Ukraine is a country for International Students and foreigners are found at every place normally in Ukraine.
In Ukraine food is not expensive like in other European countries as for 100$-150$ one person may buy food for one month if he/she cooks at hostel.At all hostels there are kitchen facilities are available for international students.
LANDLINE AND MOBILE PHONE SERVICES
Ukraine has a very strong network of landline Phone services and also mobile phone companies.Mainly there are 5 main mobile companies 1:Kyivstar,2:Life,3:MTC.4:U’tel,5:Beeline.A new mobile sim packet cost some 1$US.
Mobile to Mobile calls are not so expensive even international calls schemes are working throughout the year.From mobile phone an international call costs some 20 Cents per minute but there are other much cheaper ways also to call internationally legally and officially.
Within the same network a minimum charge is paid monthly and call are unlimited and free.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Weather conditions are very pleasant in Ukraine always.In summer its maximum +25-+30 and in Winter it gets down to -5 to-15 normally.Snow falls every winter. In summer Ukraine becomes so green that its called the Green Land with so beautiful landscapes.
